Production News from Andy Perry

Following the management buy out, Counterline has pursued a policy of capital investment in new machinery, operator training and productivity improvements by introducing lean manufacturing techniques. We have introduced three new CNC controlled multi-axis state of the art press brakes, a complete range of new tooling backed up with operator training and offline programming capabilities.

The new machines have brought a number of benefits including increased productivity, faster throughput of components, versatility from the machines and operators, improved accuracy and repeatability of folded parts, improved capabilities in the parts that can now be folded with the introduction of a 3 metre machine.. to name a few.

We are currently actively pursuing a new punching machine, this will not only have benefits from the obvious increased production capacities from having two machines but the latest machines have numerous additional capabilities above our existing punch, faster punching of parts, increased material usage reducing costs, ability to tap holes reducing assembly personnel’s time to build units.

Counterline’s capital investment programme through the machine line is building up a lean manufacturing organisation with countless short term but more importantly long term benefits, increased productivity, greater flexibility, faster throughput of customers orders, reduced operational costs and improved quality.
